‘Bene Meals’; a Summer of Italian Flavours and Community Giving

We’re proud to introduce ‘Bene Meals’ – launching today!

This new menu highlights our commitment to offering a taste of Italian summers, inspired by ‘cibo povero’; traditional Italian dishes born out of scarcity but rich in flavour and nutrition.

Feel Good

Our menu celebrates the Mediterranean diet. It is renowned for its health benefits, ensuring that each dish not only tastes great, but makes you feel great too. From pork ragu to tiramisu, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Eating well feels good. But we are also packing our meals with specific ingredients that support mental and physical well-being.

Recipe examples include:

Rich tomato sauces, such as Pork Ragu, Chicken Meatball Marinara, Creamy Tuscan Salmon, and Red Pesto Olive and Almond Lentils. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which have been shown to reduce cardiovascular disease risk factors.

Cold-pressed olive oil-based dressings. Cold-pressed olive oil is frequently used in the Mediterranean diet. It has been linked with a lower risk of dementia and cognitive decline.

Tuscan Bean Stew, followed by Tiramisu for dessert. Both beans and caffeine contain polyphenols. They are rich in antioxidants and contribute to healthy cardiovascular function.

Do Good

Our commitment extends beyond just providing delicious meals!

This summer, we aim to foster a spirit of community and giving. London is facing a severe food insecurity problem. Thousands are struggling to access nutritious meals daily. Amid escalating living costs and a deepening homelessness crisis, many Londoners are unsure where their next meal will come from.

For every order placed from our new summer menu, we will donate a meal to the London Soup Kitchen, ensuring that those in need can enjoy wholesome, nutritious food. We will also host several outreach activities, encouraging our clients to join us in making a tangible difference. From Refugee Befriending Dinners to Street Outreach Walks, and our annual 5km run Strides For the Streets, all supporting the London Soup Kitchen, there are many events that we are encouraging our community to get involved in.

As Sophie Dillon, Head of Nutrition at Fresh Fitness Food, states, “Our ‘Bene Meals’ initiative is more than just a menu; it’s a movement towards integrating joy, health, and social responsibility into every meal. Italian culture teaches us to cherish food and community. Through our partnership with the London Soup Kitchen, we extend this philosophy beyond our tables to those who need it most.”
