Alexander Matheson of Scotland built Dalmore Distillery in 1839. Today the distillery sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, the “big meadowland”, from which the distillery takes its’ name. The distillery is now owned and operated by Whyte and Mackay Ltd. This award-winning distillery produces a combination of different whiskies. Each expression of the Dalmore is matured in two different types of wooden casks- American white oak bourbon casks and exclusive aged sherry casks.
In 1263, the chief of the clan Mackenzie made a bold move to stand up and be known by saving King Alexander III from a charging attack. In return for saving his life, the king gifted the 12-pointed Royal Stag emblem to the Mackenzie clan as a reward. To this day, the Stag adorns each and every bottle of the Dalmore. In recognition to the king, Dalmore Distilley released The Dalmore King Alexander III. Filled with aromas of dark chocolate, creamy vanilla, and tastes of spiced berries, tropical fruits, finished with notes of pepper. Celebrate the king by purchasing a bottle today!
