Game of Thrones: TV show, beer or both?

While the wait for each new season of Game of Thrones can seem longer than the wait for the winter in Westeros, fans can now quench their thirst for all-things-Thrones with the newest beer from Brewery Ommegang and HBO Global Licensing: Bend the Knee Golden Ale. The golden ale is released in three collectible 750ml corked bottles, all finished in matte black and adorned with one of the three Great House sigils: Stark, Targaryen or Lannister, with its appropriate names of Wolf, Dragon and Lion, respectively.

Pils malt, flaked oats, Saaz, Bravo and Styrian Golding hops all work together to create a beer that’s complex and exciting. Bend the Knee pours a golden hue with a large, frothy head and has an incredible mix of maltiness and citrus that are evident in both the aroma and the flavor, which finishes dry with firm hop bitterness. Host a feast for all your friends and pair this beer with a variety of foods such as seafood, roasted or grilled chicken, grilled steaks and aged Swiss-style cheeses.
