Cadaretta 2015 Southwind Malbec: Winds of Change

Washington State is finally getting the recognition it well deserves. Though the wines from here have been terrific for years, they are comfortably hitting their stride and the winds of change are noticeable with excellent and well-structured wines throughout the state. From Walla Walla Valley comes Cadaretta’s 2015 Malbec, which presents lovely blackberry, black cherry and blueberry, dark plum and hints of pomegranate. There are back notes of wild herbs, milk chocolate, cedar, vanilla and dried wood. Though a big wine, it is subdued, balanced, and built for the long haul.
