Holiday Leftovers: The Lexington

Lets face it, we all have those bottles hidden in the back of our pantry. You know, the ones that have been collecting dust since your last holiday party and that you have no idea what to do with, but just cant bring yourself to drink them or throw them out. The good news is that there are plenty of household ingredients that you can use to combine them with for some tasty drinks that will make you feel as accomplished as your neighborhood hipster bartender. Heres a quick rundown of easy, simple cocktails you can make without having to change out of your pajamas and go to the grocery store. Assuming, that is, that you usually change out of pajama pants to leave the house. Say hello to The Lexington!

The Lexington

Bottle of flavorful Cabernet


Half a bottle of spiced rum


2oz lime juice


3oz maple syrup


½ teaspoon of brown sugar


Instructions: Add all ingredients to a pot (or crockpot) and let sit on low heat for approx. 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Best served warm or hot.
