This stunning Syrah from the Languedoc, is brought to you by British winemakers Charles and Ruth Simpson. It’s a real stand out wine in what is an impressive and broad range.

As soon as I opened this, an alluring and memorable scent of toasted caramel hit me, the pungency was astounding! A strong boozy nose, is packed to the rafters with blackcurrant and black cherry. A fine precursor to the main event, which is utterly enthralling. In the mouth, syrupy dark fruit, creamy charred oak and a mildly spicy finish, there is much to admire about the make up and complexity of this absolute belter of a wine!

Medium to full of body, serenely integrated tannins, a velvety mouthfeel and a rich, oily complexion that clings to the glass for dear life. This truly is a wine for all occasions, it dances harmoniously with an array of foods from beef wellington and roast duck to strong hard cheeses and dark chocolate. Alternatively, it’s fantastic just on its own. Uncork, pour, enjoy…
