Ventisquero saw an unusually cold 2015 season at their vineyard in Colchagua Valley. The cool temperatures slowed the ripening process which only heightened the grapes freshness and aromas. The cold season also proved to be dry, but the lack of rainfall during the ripening period helped to produce an outstanding harvest that is culminated into the equally outstanding Reserva Carmenere.
Purity, restraint, and perfection inspire Ventisquero’s Reserva collection and Carmenere is no exception. Carmenere pours deep cherry red with maroon hues and an intense fruity, spicy, and earthy bouquet. Breath in subtle notes of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, blackcurrants, tobacco, and vanilla. Carmenere is notable for its structure. The wine offers a well-balanced body with rich, velvety tannins which deliver a clean and elegant finish. This wine pairs well with anything from soft cheese to pasta with meat and well-seasoned sauces.
