Subtle nose, with a creamy note to the cherry pastry creme and spice, but otherwise, this is fairly quiet right now. On the palate, this is shutting down and looks ready to hibernate, but the acid and fine- to medium-grained tannins are in balance, and with the hints of cherry skin and tobacco spice and cigar tobacco, I expect this to emerge nicely, with a touch of torrefaction to the lifted red-cherry and red-currant spice.
