Taste The History: The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1966

The Glenlivet Distillery was founded in 1824 in Moray, Scotland. The Glenvilet is the biggest selling single malt whisky in the United States and second biggest selling single malt brand globally. Today, the French alcoholic beverage company, Pernod Ricard, owns the distillery. The Glenlivet recently launched the second edition in its series of exclusive 50-year-old single malt whiskies: The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1966. The Glenlivet Master Distiller Robert Arthur created this in 1966, and was then guarded by Master Distillers of the Glenlivet. The vintage 1966 joins with the vintage 1964 to become one of the most sought after whisky collections in the world.

The signature flavors that make the Glenlivet so exquisite are soft, sweet combinations of liquorice and cinnamon ending with a smooth finish and hint of dryness. The rare bottle of The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1966 was auctioned at Christie’s New York and raised $31,850 for the British Crafts Council. The result of the auction marked the highest selling whisky lot this decade. Only 100 bottles of this are for sale, valued at $25,000 each. Honor the past, celebrate the present, and drink to the future by purchasing this historical liquid today.
