Slow & Low Rider: All aboard the whiskey wagon

This spring, Hochstadter’s Slow & Low takes its act on the road. The original bottled Old Fashioned is the driving force behind a juggernaut Chevy G20, embarking this spring on a cross-country journey that everyone can climb aboard for. The tricked-out 1978 “whiskey delivery van” is a mobile penthouse resurrecting an era of freewheeling fun—leather benches, tufted tangerine paneling, chain-stitched pillows, and a booming sound system frame the centerpiece custom walnut bar that’s always ready with a keg of Slow & Low.

Maker Cooper Spirits has partnered with a host of artists to create this traveling showcase of American craftsmanship and design—from Bombshell Speed and Custom, the talent outfitting the G20, to Oil&Ink, whose vintage motorcycle homages grace its walls. At the wheel is noted photographer Asher Moss, using his vantage point to chronicle the trip (check Twitter handle @drinkslowandlow for the latest updates). The van will pull in to venues across the nation for pop-up events, in a quintessentially American quest for new faces and, of course, good times. Rock and rye!
