Matua Summer Sangria

If you’ve got a crowd coming over, this really is the perfect choice. Simply grab a bottle of Prosecco and Limoncello and let the robust and tropical flavors of Matua’s Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé get to work.

Ingredients:

  • Bottle of Matua Rosé
  • Add1/4 bottle of Limoncello
  • Top with 1/4 bottle of Prosecco
  • Add lots of red and blue Berries


Method:
Grab a pitcher and fill it ¼ full with ice. Pour in the bottle of rosé before adding in ¼ bottles of both Limoncello and Prosecco. Finally garnish with a mixture of red and blue berries.

Probably one of the easiest cocktails you’ll ever make and perfect for those sunny evenings when a long drink is on your mind.

Ingredients:

  • Fill a wine glass half full with ice
  • ½ fill with Matua Sauvignon Blanc
  • Shot of vodka
  • Splash of soda
  • Garnish with a kiwi wedge


Method:
Simply pour half a glass of Matua Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc over half a glass of ice. Add a shot of vodka and a splash of soda before garnishing the glass with a kiwi wedge. Simples.

Tip: For a little extra kick of acidity, try muddling some kiwi in a cocktail shaker beforehand or throwing in a sprig of fresh mint as an additional garnish.

 

Maritz (Matua Spritz)

Aperol step aside, there’s a new Spritz in town. This incredibly vibrant zing-tastic cocktail has a perfect kick off sharpness from the passion fruit, brought together with the Matua Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Campari and orange juice. It’s the perfect cocktail for those who claim not to enjoy Sauvignon Blanc (crazy, right?!).

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Matua Sauvignon Blanc
  • 30ml Campari
  • 45ml Orange juice
  • 15ml Sugar syrup
  • 15ml Passion fruit pulp


Method:
Shake all ingredients in a Boston glass (except passion fruit pulp), strain into a tall glass full of ice and passion fruit. Garnish with a slice or two of lime.

Refreshing, fruity and bursting with flavor, the Matuaberry has been crafted specifically for Drink Me readers in mind. Try substituting the agave nectar for simple syrup to make this delicious cocktail even more natural.

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts Matua Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
  • 4 strawberries (chopped into halves to make it easier)
  • 1 part quality Gin
  • Agave nectar or simple syrup to taste
  • ¼ lemon juice squeezed
  • Garnish: A fresh strawberry slice, cut slightly to fit over the glass rim
  • Serve: In a standard white wine glass


Method:
Muddle the strawberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and mix in the lemon juice and agave nectar or simple syrup. Add in the gin and Matua Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and shake well with ice. Strain over ice into the glass and finally add the strawberry garnish.
