Wingtip: San Francisco, Prestige & Some Damn Good Spirits

“You don’t need twenty ingredients for a great drink,” says Brian Macgregor, award-winning bar manager at Wingtip, a private club for frequent buyers at Wingtip’s men’s shop. Ten floors above the Financial District in the historic Bank of America building he keeps the offerings fast and fresh, swapping a couple of cocktails off the menu each month and adding a couple of new ones. The club Christmas party is held each year on December 12, Frank Sinatra’s birthday. Another signature event is Big Bottle Night for which the club acquires a rarified spirit which retails for over $2000 by pre-selling by the ounce–think Glenmorangie Pride. Then the lucky subscribers gather for the bottle opening.
