Fly With A Heineken

Beer on tap may have been changed entirely by the infamous Dutch brewing company. Heineken joined forces with KLM and is pioneered the first ever in-flight Heineken beer tap experience. The two Dutch brands are achieving a world’s first by making draught beer available 30,000 ft in the air. It is available on specific KLM flights in World Business Class (something to ask about next time you’re flying with KLM.) The key appliance is uniquely designed and 3D printed to fit the dimensions of a regular airline trolley. The engineers have overcome the issue of the differences in air pressure that have been holding back draught beer from coming aboard.

The trolley will hold the innovative “BrewLock” keg, technology that works with aid of air pressure rather than CO2, which will bring the keg pressure to the desired level and compensate for the negative pressure on board to provide the sufficient tap pressure for pour by trained cabin attendants. The beer is brewed at the Zoeterwoude brewery in the Netherlands and each serving will be the standard Heineken serving. Now it’s time to pack a suitcase, book a flight with KLM and refresh the parts other beers cannot reach.
