Romantic. Aromatic. Soft. There’s a new love interest in town… with a hint of lavender simple syrup and Balcones Rye 100*, the Lonesome Dove is just as sweet on the palate as the name suggests. Every great relationship also has a little kick to it; with the addition of lemon in the cocktail, the Lonesome Dove is a perfect balance of romance and adventure!

1.5 Rye 100 0.5 oz Lavender Simple Syrup 1 oz lemon |
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until cold to touch, strain over crushed ice in a collins glass and garnish with a lemon twist. Lavender Simple Syrup: Ingredients – 1 cup water, 1 tbsp lavender flowers, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup honey. Method – Bring the water up to medium-high heat. Add the lavender flowers, stir & cover for 10 minutes or until aromatic. Strain out the lavender. Add the sugar and honey and stir until dissolved. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, remove from the heat, allow to cool, then bottle. |
*Balcones Texas Rye 100 launched at the distillery in March and is available in the US now. It will be available in the UK from October 2018.
