Editor’s Pick: The Sublime Tito Zuccardi 2011, Mendoza, Argentina

Editor’s Rating

94

Shimmering, inky purple-black in color, with aromas of melted black licorice, dark cherry liqueur, kirsch, blackberry liqueur, balsamic reduction, a hint of meat, spice, and maduro cigar. This is rich, deep and dense. On the palate, it’s silky and sweetly fruited, with nice acid balancing out flavors of blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, balsamic, and black cherry, as well as a whiff of dried flower in the background. Spice and plum pudding emerge with a bit of air, and lead to a finish that speaks of tea and Fig Newtons. Drink now to 2022.
