This biodynamic beauty from Veneto producers Musella is absolutely outstanding and that doesn’t surprise me, as these guys have been producing wine from this estate for the best part of a millennia. Apparently they know what they’re doing!
Loads of florals and red fruit on the nose, with cherry and vanilla making for a rounded and evocative bouquet. In the mouth, tarte red fruit with some nice bitter notes adding a welcome dimension to what is an elegant, flavoursome and bone dry palate; slightly coarse and chalky tannins, especially noticeable at this early stage of bottle development, but one can reasonably expect this to soften over the following two or three years.
An intense, medium to full bodied wine, graceful and incredibly drinkable, with a memorable finish. A wonderful partner to margherita pizza with fresh basil and black olives.
