Is Rec. League A Better-For-You Beer?

Introduced in a local test batch in late 2018, Harpoon Brewery’s new Rec. League is now available nationally. A hoppy, hazy pale ale that’s thirst-quenching and refreshing, Rec. League is low-calorie and packed with buckwheat kasha, ground chia seeds and Mediterranean sea salt, for a powerful source of electrolytes.

It’s being offered as the new cool-down companion and better-for-you beer. Here are some of its strong points:

  • Just 120 calories per pint and 3.8% ABV – finally a beer that doesn’t slow you down.
  • Buckwheat Kasha, which adds a nutty, toasted grain flavor, but also important minerals (such as manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium) and B vitamins (B2- thiamine, B3-Riboflavin, and B5-pantothenic acid).
  • Ground Chia Seeds that are high in fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids, and anti-oxidants; they also add a fuller mouthfeel to Rec. League, in addition to more important minerals and B Vitamins.
  • Mediterranean sea salt, which is a powerful source of electrolytes, making it the perfect cool-down companion.

Now available nationally, Rec. League is available in 4 pack 16 oz cans, and 15 pack 12 oz cans.
