Lots of space and when the weather cooperates they open the restaurant up and allow the fresh breeze and the sun to shine through. Rum Club

This is such a contemporary style bar. Not a tiki bar by any means but as you enter and are in awe of the enormous selection of rum and other liquors behind the bar you can instantly expect a fabulous cocktail. I could see this place representing a modern hotel bar you might find in Hawaii or Turks and Caicos. The drinks are creative concoctions and you can guess they specialize in rum. Try the Waterloo Sunset or Faster Pussycat.

Casa Del Matador

This place has so much tequila it made me dizzy. The ambiance is a gothic Spanish style but they open the windows during the summer and is a great place to consume tacos, enchiladas and anything tequila. Their seasonal margarita was spot on and quenched my thirst. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Very lively place and the service was a little slow but still enjoyable. Nice not to be rushed like some places can be. Take your time, enjoy the tequila flights or a margarita, kick back and pretend you are looking at the ocean instead of the cement jungle.

The old classic. This place has survived from the ’50’s. Just be ready for a true tiki bar experience with all the trimmings including karaoke. Yes, feel free to grab a classic tiki drink, perhaps the Mai Tai and sing your heart out. They also have developed an outdoor patio so if you feel the red lights and the screeching is too much for you head outside for some fresh air. Don’t forget to take that delicious Mai Tai with you. Who knows, you may meet a new friend out there on the patio as you dream of far off places filled with sun and sand.
