Gastropub Street 130 – Superb 24 hour dining

he Gastropub Street 130 is one of the most familiar sites on this most notorious of streets, when everything else is closed these guys very much remain open, and that is 24 hours a day. Can’t say fairer than that.

Believe it, or not I rarely drink on this street, it is a little too Jazzy for me, although there are places I like here, such as Jungle Cat, and Olala , it is also near the riverside which is pleasant, but also fairly dangerous.

I have previously visited Gastropub Street 130 on a friend birthday, which coincided with Mothers day, they served some great cocktails that day!

Gastropub Street 130 Happy Hour!

Happy Hour runs from 6 am to 6 pm and beers are 75 cents, you will see it packed with Barang enjoying cheap drinks. At 6.01 beers become $1.75 which amusingly changes the clientele rather a lot.

And of course GastroPub 130 also serves food all day long, which is why I found myself here at 10pm on a Friday night.

GastroPub 130 Menu

I was honestly not expecting much from the menu here, but in actuality it blew me away! So many dishes from western favorites, such as a roast dinner to more Khmer and Asian orientated dishes. Essentially there is something to fit all tastes.

Overall a very impressive menu, with some sample photos attached.

Where can I get a macaroni cheeseburger in Phnom Penh?

I initially ordered a Khmer beef dish, but then I saw macaroni cheese burger. I assumed it would be a normal cheeseburger with macaroni and cheese inside if it. Oh boy was I wrong!

The BUN WAS A DEEP FRIED MACARONI CHEESE BUN – I felt like the Chinese must have done when they invented fire (more than one person in China has told me that invented fire).

Served with chips and mustard it was amazing – although the burger part was far too overcooked, which was bit of letdown. On the other half of the table my partner had the roast dinner, which came served on a platter with the beef being medium rare and phenomenal – a very decent roast dinner, much better than on street 172 for example.

Price wise it is not cheap, but it is also not to the expense level that Oscars is either,

GastroPub 130 the overall opinion

Really what is not to like about the place – if you want 24 hour dining that is good, as well as decently priced beers and cocktails then this is the place to be, at least if you live near the riverside anyway.

Although if you just need a daytime sandwich then head to Molly’s on Street 172 – we like it there, so consider this a shameless plug.
